Tups in Demand
A strong demand for tups means the focus is on this year’s NSA Wales & Border Ram Sales. The sale at the Royal Welsh Showground on Monday 21st September will offer some of the UK’s best tups, all veterinary inspected.
The choice is better than ever, with 3,368 rams from a range of different breeds. This is an increase of 200 across 16 rings. The Hexham South Country Cheviot ring will feature a bigger entry, with some new vendors.
It is strongly recommended that all sheep brought to the sale are vaccinated against Bluetongue, although it is not compulsory. Flockmasters are asked to be vigilant and to be acutely aware of the big losses the disease can inflict on sheep and cattle.
The Tup Taxi service will be available, as usual, to ease exit from the showground. And, of course, a range of good meal opportunities provide for a chance to refresh and catch up and enjoy the craic.
