Ram Sale Sponsor offer World Class Support

Offering world class expertise to some of the world’s finest flockmasters will be the NSA Wales & Border Ram Sale’s latest sponsor. MSD Animal Health says it welcomes the opportunity to offer support, alongside its sponsorship of the National Sheep Association.
Sheep Product Manager, Elizabeth Thornley, says the new sponsorship deal is part of a package of support to the industry as it moves towards more preventative health solutions. The company maintains a strong presence in Wales, with talks and presentations at the Royal Welsh and the Sheep Event as well as on farm projects and demonstrations. Elizabeth Thornley says: “The NSA Wales & Border Ram Sale gives us a really good opportunity to see a vast range from the sector, from smallholders to hill flocks. “It gives us the opportunity to see a wide range of end users that we can try and help with tailor made vaccination programs and promote best practice. Everyone might have different requirements at different levels.
“Your rams are often the most expensive animals in your flock. Ensuring they are well looked after, having their MOT and protecting against things like Footrot. If you’re sending your tup in, they can spread lameness throughout the flock quickly. “We can help ensure they are covered for different diseases. It’s really important when they are integrated with the rest of your flock, to minimse that potential for disease spread and for stress.” Elizabeth says the team is looking forward to this further opportunity to get their message across to key, valued, players in the industry.
NSA Wales and Border Executive Director, Jane Smith, is enthusiastic about the initiative. She welcomes the support from MSD Animal Health, joining JG Animal Health as a major sponsor of the 2022 NSA Wales & Border Ram Sale.
